The other day I was watching a Facebook shared video from YouTube. It was all about online chatting and dating. It just depicted a usual dating story at the beginning. A boy and a girl chat online, they become friendly, and they date and fix a cafe to meet. Both of them get ready with much curiosity because it is the first time that they are going to meet.
The girl waits in the cafe room and the boy comes in with a rose flower, a moment of anxiety, joy ………he opens the door…….aghast….he gets a shock as he see the girl….. the same with the girl too……. The camera takes us back to the online chat where both the girl and the boy were from the same house. They were brother and sister.
Since each of them had their personal computer, they locked themselves in the room and in the pretext of studying they had online chatting. As always in the chat rooms they do not reveal their names and they end up making a big mistake. The video clip ends with the note that “do we know what our children are doing on the net?”
Thus it is big question mark as to whether online dating really works. Because it’s a fact that people are not so genuine when online. Many people come online for fun and some takes it very serious and get cheated. Thus online dating can often takes us into dangerous situations. But not in all cases because people who are really careful about online dating and takes the necessary precautions and therefore can get involved in online dating with confidence.
There are thousands of happy couples who found each other through an online dating site. So as long as you understand that not everybody online is not genuine and take the necessary precautions then online dating sites can be a good option for finding your dream partner.
